Product Description

Boucle

Bouclé (pronounced “boo-clay”) is both a textured yarn featuring tiny loops or curls and the nubby fabric woven from it.
Originating from the French word boucler (to curl), it is famous for its cloud-like softness, warmth, and cozy, aesthetic. Because of its malleability, it is frequently used to upholster curved, sculptural furniture like accent chairs, sofas, and beds. It’s also used for cozy throw pillows.
Key Characteristics
  • Texture: Made by plying at least two strands together, where one is left loose to form loops (ranging from small circlets to large curls).
  • Materials: Traditionally made from wool or mohair, but can be spun from cotton, linen, or synthetics.
  • Durability: Highly resilient and family-friendly compared to sherpa or sheepskin, as it doesn’t easily shed or mat.
